Rob Edwards, Pastor

Rob Edwards became pastor of Cradock Baptist Church in July 2004. Prior to coming to Cradock, he has served churches in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia.

Pastor Rob grew up in East Tennessee, and graduated from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee, with a Bachelors degree in in Communication Arts, and received the Master of Divinity in Christian Education degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

Through the years, he has been active in denominational, ecumenical, and community life. He has served on various committees with the Baptist General Association of Virginia and the Portsmouth Baptist Association. He serves as an Emerging Leaders Field Specialist for the Virginia Baptist Mission Board. He helped to establish coalitions of church-based compassion ministries in Hampton Roads, and he currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Portsmouth Area Resources Coalition. Rob is a member of the Christian Community Development Association.

A veteran of the US Air Force Reserve, Rob now serves as the Region Chaplain, Middle East Region, US Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol. He is active in networking ministries to military personnel and their families, and serves on the Executive Committee of the Military Chaplains Association.

Pastor Rob is a certified Missions InnoVAtor, and has completed five short-term international mission trips where he taught in theological schools in Romania, Finland, and Russia.

He is married to the former Catherine Ann Porier, who is an Associate Broker with Long and Foster Realtors, and an instructor with the Long and Foster Institute of Real Estate. They have two children, a son, Joshua, a budding violinist who is preparing to enter middle school, and a daughter, Caitlin, an accomplished artist who is entering second grade. His hobbies include cooking, reading, and planning to play golf.

Brenda Hayth, Supply Organist/Director of Music

Brenda Hayth is a skilled musician who has served at several churches in the Hampton Roads area. A career educator, Brenda works with all ages to draw them in to full participation in worship through song.

Bob Smith, Financial Administrator

Bob Smith came to be our Financial Secretary following a career in the information technology field with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. In addition to being our Financial Administrator, Bob keeps our computer network running smoothly.

Beth Reamer, Receptionist

For folks whose first contact with us is through the Church Office, Beth Reamer is the "voice" of Cradock Baptist Church. Beth hails from Washington state, and received her bachelor's degree in Art. She enjoys all types of crafts, including scrapbooking and stained glass, and lives in the Cradock community with her husband Mike and their two dogs.
